Halloween Parade
Dear Parents,
It’s time to celebrate! We are excited for our Halloween parade this year on Thursday, October 31 from 8:35-9:00 a.m. Parents are welcome to join us to watch the parade. Dress up in ALL blue and gold in true Deerfield pride, come with crazy hair and mismatched clothes, wear an outfit that represents the country of your heritage, or come in your Halloween costume. There’s something for everyone! (All of Mrs. Farajian's PK students will attend from 8:00-11:20. Mrs. Kormos’ kindergartens will also attend from 8:00-11:20 so they are able to participate.)
Please review the following rules:
1. Because we are having our parade first thing in the morning, please have your child come to school in her/his costume. Either bring a change of clothes or wear a costume that easily fits over a student’s existing clothes. You may also want to send your child with a bag to store her/his costume in for the remainder of the day.
2. Avoid wearing overly scary or graphic costumes. If you have any questions, please ask your child’s teacher.
3. If your child’s costume has a “toy weapon,” please make sure to leave that part at home. No replica guns, knives, swords, etc.
4. Masks are permitted, but are to be kept in a bag or box until the parade. They may be worn in the parade only.
5. No makeup please … save this for trick or treating!
6. Please do not bring pets to the parade.
***Parents, please line up behind the cones that will be set out. We ask that parents do not enter areas where the children will be gathering. There will be plenty of photo opportunities as your child passes by and then after the parade.***
We have obtained a variance for the school side of Deerfield Avenue.
Please do not park in the staff parking lot.
